The neighbourhood is called Isarvorstadt because of its proximity to the nearby Isar river with its green surroundings. It is a fast developing neighbourhood with old industrial areas being transformed into food places, outdoor cinemas, flea markets or music scenes. The bars and restaurants of the famous Glockenbachviertel or the Theresienwiese, where the Oktoberfest takes place, are within walking distance. The closest bus stop, Kapuzinerstraße, is just across the street and the metro stop Goetheplatz can be reached within a couple of minutes.
